Massage
Various styles of massage are used at ChiroPosture to alleviate your pain and muscle tightness.
Tui-na (Chinese massotherapy) uses a push/pull technique to tease out your muscle tension.
Remedial massage can be applied specifically to areas of tightness, or where there is soft tissue injury with inflammation and pain. Combined with the chiropractic adjustments, your pain conditions can become things of the past.
Reflexology is a system of foot massage that believes different points on your feet correspond to the different parts of your body and your various internal organs and nervous system. When these points receive massage, it stimulates the corresponding body parts, and provides another method by which to alleviate your symptoms. If you like your feet to be massaged, this therapy can be very beneficial and relaxing.
Acupressure is also used at Chiroposture, and relies on applying pressure, with the fingers or thumb, to acupoints. These acupoints have a 75% overlap with trigger points, and often lie in the muscle belly or at the musculo tendinous junction ( between the muscle and the tendon ). They provide an effective and very rapid means of addressing your sore muscles, so that you can once more feel relaxed, loose and pain free.
Japanese therapy is a whole body therapy used to mobilise joints that are quite "stuck". This is used when other types of treatment have not been as effective.
Vibration therapy is also available in the form of a machine that is used to stimulate your dorsal columns (the back part of your spinal cord ). This has proven to be very enjoyable and therapeutic for a wide variety of patients at chiroposture.
