The Activator

The activator is a small "clicking" device that is used to apply very LOW force, rapid pressure to joints.

Treatment:
When I perform a chiropractic adjustment, I am stimulating your body by means of a fast stretch- more specifically, I am applying a fast stretch to your muscle spindles ( sensitive end organs located in the muscles). This rapid stretch can be demonstrated when we activate the "knee jerk" response. In the same way, the Activator is also stimulating this fast stretch, but is used all over the body.

Results/Effectiveness:
It can be used on anyone, including newborns, and allows for chiropractic adjustments to be performed in a very safe and non obtrusive manner. The response evoked in children is usually laughter, which means kids are happy to come back for more! For the adults who don't like manual adjustments, this provides a very satisfactory alternative.
